Volunteer at Fat Donkey Farm
We're looking for 3-4 individuals willing to trade elbow grease for veggies during our upcoming 2025 growing season. The commitment will be for 3 hours a week, June 1 through October 17th, in exchange for a medium CSA share, some Fat Donkey Swag (2 hats), and a summer of fun. Duties will include, but aren't limited to, weeding, pruning, planting, plant care, harvest help, market prep, bed and field maintenance, and general cleaning & maintenance on the farm.
Volunteers must be in good physical condition, willing to follow instruction, able to stand, sit and squat for extended periods of time, able to comfortably lift 50 lbs., and be willing to work in all kinds of weather and conditions (hot/cold/sun/rain/wet/dry/dirty). Interested in building community and some hands on learning about gardening, agriculture, weeds, plant care, market gardening, and more? Fat Donkey Farm is a believer in the importance of local agriculture, personal gardening, healthy living, and the importance of community. In support of those values, we'll be holding a series of educational work days during the 2025 growing season (dates TBD). Work days will include an educational session, followed by an opportunity to get your hands dirty at FDF!
